One of the advantages of the wealthy arsenal series and the higher variety of weaponry, the BFE can be no exception tó this, ánd it will captivate you by offering a lengthy list of weapons, the famous Shotgun Double, the Launcher Rocket, the Mini Gan In addition to a great beautiful mallet, they possess converted around to decorate Sam around a tiny item of fragmented systems. Thankfully, the game in the design of the enemies continues to be the very first two loyal first names and can be not news of the ridiculous SS2 creatures, fast-moving skeletons that toss chains, eye-catching trolls, tough and fast hens, snorkel scorpions and, of program, stupid animals without The head and boost of the well-known series have got returned to become SS 3 BFE as a highly nostalgic name. As often, there are a lot of different enemies having difficulties against you, ánd you'll end up being ripped by their powerful weapons. I don't have good enough internet to play games online, but it sounds like it would be a blast. The game has worked simply because nicely as its predecessors in giving harsh, fast and thrilling promotions. P.S.- I hear that the multiplayer, ESPECIALLY survival, is the mode that really makes the game. I probably wouldn't have paid $31 for it, but if it goes on sale, you'd probably have a good time. It can make things frustrating at times- though this complaint may stem more from skill than gameplay decision.ĭespite all the gripes, the game does look pretty solid, and it has some of that Serious Sam feel to it. However, turning it down a notch makes the game too easy. Dislike.Īs for the difficulty- I'm playing on Hard. Seeing as I'm stuck with the weapons that reload up until now (I just got the rocket launcher, but ammo seems to be hard to find), I don't really have a choice in this. In SS3, I'm having to stop every 20 seconds to reload. As I've said a few times in the past, Serious Sam is about frantic running and gunning without having to stop to take cover/reload, etc. It's honestly nearly ruined the game for me. Reloading guns is.annoying, to say the least. The museum level (especially in the basement) was a really nice touch, but then it went back to the city. I'm about 5 or 6 levels in, and most of them have been in the same exact-looking city. The main issues I'm having with the game revolve around the setting, reloading, and difficulty. In short, I haven't played the game but if you are looking for some good oldskool fun then all signs point to yes, you should get it. From what I've seen the start is a little weak due to spending too long with just the pistol and small groups of enemies, but once it opens up things go back to the same old awesome serious sam experience.Īs for the meelee/animations, I get the feeling that those are more of a bonus feature/last resort action so they play a pretty minor part of the game. All the other guns are continuous fire though, so theres no shortage of mega spam weapons if thats what you are worried about. It helps to differentiate the mini-gun a bit more. While it does kinda suck having to reload I can understand it from a balancing point. They are magazines (clips are used to load a magazine, usually only on internal mag guns) and yea, there are 3 guns that need reloading I think, the pistol (always needed reloading in the originals too), the shotgun (not so bad as it can be interrupted and you can still shoot whats loaded) and the assault rifle. The humor has been toned down too.īut the biggest offense is that there are no Cucurbitos. The dialogues are painful, and Sam curses way too much. Croteam went conservative on this game, which is kind of disappointing. I can't say i regret the pre-order, but i got more out of the HD remakes than i'll probably get out of this. The insistence in doing close-up on the characters faces, despite the facial animation being obnoxious. The witches and the helicopters take pacing out of the game. There are less guns, the sniper rifle and the laser gun are "secret weapons", with very rare ammunition caches (i would guess 30 sniper rounds through the campaign). You're back to Egypt, and this theme persists through the entire game, which is annoying. Some decisions, however, are questionable. The graphics on BFE are improved, and so are the animations, the game looks better and is more fluid, shaking off the amateurish feel from the previous titles (the HD remakes being so faithful to the originals). It's still Serious Sam alright, but i can't shake the feeling that The Second Encounter is better in almost every respect. It's definitely a lot of fun, i finished the SP and played some Cooperative sessions.
