It was in Khrysalis that she unlocked her ability to use Shadow Magic, but she failed to master Star Magic during her time at the Alcazar of Radiant Judgement. As a result, her deck and wand were confiscated and she was expelled from Ravenwood after a brief duel against Malistaire Drake, who had been sent to censure Morganthe by Merle Ambrose.ĭesperate to continue practicing magic in any way she could, Morganthe eventually found her way to Khrysalis where she was hailed by the Spider Magi as the prophesied child they had been in search for. Her forbidden research culminated with an Astral Magic experiment that almost destroyed Wizard City. Nevertheless, she accompanied an unaware Merle Ambrose to Ravenwood, becoming his best student. Not content with his slow and cautious training methodology, Morganthe would often delve into forbidden magic on her own, being responsible for the transformation of King Artorious into the fearsome Pendragon.
